China Tea Tea has been grown in China for many generations and the origins are surrounded in a mixture of myth, legend and fact. Today China produces a lot of very good tea of all types and grades : Green Tea ( unfermented tea ) - Oolong Tea ( semi - fermented tea ) - black ( fully fermented ) and from the later tea flowers are made and tea bricks. At our factory in Pluckley we regularly taste new China Tea's and our stocks are always very fresh. In the last week we have just tasted SILVER SNAIL ... which was very nice. Legend says that there are more than ten thousand Chinese Tea's but how true that is questionable . Also China Teas are graded in a unique way not in the traditional ways of flowery orange pekoe etc. All sort of factors are involved including : harvesting times, natural shape and colour of leaves, colour and appearance after processing, province of origin, poetic license, legend, historical ties and creatures of the land... to mention a few.
