FAQs WHERE DO OUR TEAS COME FROM ?
Well, we import Teas and Coffees from all over the world. Our Teas come from countries such as: India, Ceylon, China, Japan, Kenya, South Africa, Nepal and others; and our coffees from East Africa, India and Indonesia, South and Central America and beyond. The History of Tea tells the story of tea and how it spread around the world

WHO ARE WE ?

DO WE GROW TEA IN PLUCKLEY ?
Once upon a time about 20 years ago, there were newspaper articles suggesting that we were growing tea on the southern-facing slopes between Pluckley and Egerton and also that we had three elephants working the estate along with over two hundred Indian ladies plucking our teas. These were just rumours spread by the press and we obviously deny such suggestions.

ARABICA OR ROBUSTA ?
Arabica coffees tend to be of better quality but the bad press that Robusta coffees get is not exactly fair. Practically all blended coffees in this country will contain a certain amount of robusta, especially when it comes to espresso coffees where robusta adds a lot to the cup balance while providing a much better 'crema'. LEAF TEA or TEA BAGS ?
Umm - let me see! Not too hard a question.. A pot of leaf tea is nearly always far superior to tea bag tea. Upon retiring from India the Smith family relaised that it was time to start putting quality tea into tea bags.The thought was that the great British public maybe needed a reminder that quality tea was best and the that it doesn't cost the earth !
