Earl Grey Tea

Earl Grey is the most well known flavoured tea and the most popular . This favourite English Tea has quite a history. The story goes that a friend of prime minister Charles Grey in the 1830's was a Chinese mandarin whose son was rescued by Lord Greys entourage from drowning and in gratitude gave him the secret recipe. Lord Grey had never been to China ! So maybe another version fits : Lord Greys footman rescued the son of a Maharajah from the jaws of a tiger !
Anyway Lord Grey took to drinking this tea and it became the PM's favourite, the secret blend was replicated and today we still enjoy Earl Grey Tea.
