A very popular WHITE TEA . A tea plant by the name of Chaicha or Narcissus lets this unusual tea grow in the province of Fujian and is also known as White Peony. After plucking the tea leaves are dried in the sun or in closed rooms without any technical aid. Very similar tea to our Silver Needle but the tea is held back until the first Jasmine Flowers appear when they are added to the tea to create Jasmine Needle. From the province of Yunnan in South West China. Tea has been grown in this area for more than 1,700 years. Traditionally a Green Tea area but in recent times more black teas have been produced. Very similar in climatic and geographical conditions as Assam in North East India. Our YUNNAN FOP is a medium strong spicy tea with dark medium long leaves with some bronze coloured tips. Giving a slightly earthy taste and with its earthy woody bouquet gives this tea its own unique character.

CHINA LAPSANG SOUCHONG

Our Smoky Chinese favorite ! Interestingly when plucking Lapsang you don't pick the new growths of two leaves and a bud but instead pluck the more mature, riper, larger leaves from the lower parts of the tea bushes. After fermentation the leaves are put on hot iron pans and roasted for a short time, and then the tea is smoked over exotic woods rich in resin. The smoking time is determined for each type separately. The types are Lapsang Souchong, Tarry Lapsang Souchong and Lapsang Souchong Crocodile. Our Lapsang is has a lovely large black greyish leaf with a sharp note of smoke. Traditional
smoky spicy flavour.
