Our building was an old grain store and is now converted into a tea and coffee factory with a small shop at the front for those looking for the unusual ! Upon retiring from India about 25 years ago our local village grocer asked if we could get him some good tea ! So that is where we started. In the first years we used to pack at the family house in Pluckley, a bedroom was especially converted for the purpose. We started packing our teas by hand and when it came to tea bags that meant counting in piles of 10, then times 8 to make up 80 Tea Bags. Then the first machine came along and momentum increased. Soon after we had to leave the house ( Mother insisted ! ) and find an industrial unit which is where we are today. Things have progressed with our big tea bag machine making 1,000 Tea Bags a minute.
