Description

Assam 2nd Flush Gingia GTOP (Golden Tippy Orange Pekoe) is an Estate Black Tea from Assam, India. Specifically, it comes from Gingia, which is a Tea garden in the Biswanath district.

When brewed, it offers a delicious maltiness from beginning to end. Those who consider themselves Tea traditionalists will, therefore, find plenty to love in this divine infusion.

If taste alone isn’t enough, then you might be pleased to know that Assam 2nd Flush Gingia GTOP also contains a considerable amount of caffeine.

You can indeed expect around 45-mg of this stimulating chemical compound per 8-oz cup - more than enough to provide an extra energy boost. Most important, however, is the fact that we pack it fresh to order here at our Kent-based factory.

The Gingia Tea Estate

Gingia is a relatively little-known Tea Estate on the north bank of the mighty Brahmaputra river, which flows through the middle of the Assam Valley.

The excellent irrigation systems in place here, combined with the fertile soils and climatic conditions, contribute significantly to the character of the Tea. As a result, many people expect that Gingia will become increasingly popular over the next few years.

Why is the Tea Grade Important?

This Tea grade, Golden Tippy Orange Pekoe, is, like the estate it comes from, uncommon when compared to the likes of FOP and BOP Tea Grades.

Yet it has much to offer. Arguably its most essential quality is that it contains a high tippy content, which tends to have a smoother, milder flavour. Assam 2nd Flush Gingia GTOP, as a result, is a great choice for those who don’t want to be overpowered by their cuppa.

What is Second Flush Assam Tea?

If you enjoy Darjeeling Loose Leaf Tea, then you probably know already that First Flush is the favoured choice.

However, when it comes to Assam Tea, including our Assam 2nd Flush Gingia GTOP, it is the second flush that is first-rate.

Harvesting takes place between mid-May and June, by which time the leaves have had time to mature. The result is, put simply, exquisite.

How to Brew Assam Tea 2nd Flush FTGFOP1

1, Add Assam 2nd Flush Gingia GTOP to a Tea Infuser or Filter.

2, Place the item in a mug or cup.

3, Boil water and pour it over the leaves.

4, Allow it to steep for 3-5 minutes.

How to Serve: Milk, sugar, honey or lemon - the choice is yours. Alternatively, serve black.

Health Benefits Assam 2nd Flush Gingia GTOP

Research conducted by the University of Singapore has found that Black Tea, regardless of the type, can enhance brain function.

It involved some 2,500 volunteers, aged 55 or over, drinking Tea over a two-year period. Scientists ultimately concluded that those who drank two or three cups daily had a 55% lower chance of experiencing cognitive decline.
