Description

Assam Tea Namdang Broken Pekoe is a Loose Leaf Black Tea from the Namdang Tea Estate. The grade is Broken Pekoe (better known as Broken Orange Pekoe or BOP), which tends to create a “hearty” brew.

Such is the case here. Expect bold, malty flavours from start to finish - made all the better by us packing it fresh to order, thus ensuring quality and consistency.

But there’s more. According to countless studies, Assam Tea and others like it come with health benefits. Some suggest that your morning cuppa can boost immunity, aid digestion and even reduce diabetes risks.

Additionally, its caffeine content (around 45-mg per 8-oz cup) will help you start the day the right way. Why not discover its full potential?

The Namdang Tea Estate

This garden, comprising 753 hectares, is in the Tinsukia District of the Indian State of Assam. It belongs to the Mcleod Russel Plantations Group, a company known for nurturing estates while expanding their capabilities.

Margherita, a sister estate also owned by Mcleod Russel, finds itself nearby. (We stock an Assam Tea Margherita GFBOP Tea if you’d like to compare the two).

Recent harvests at Namdang have resulted in some 2,000 tonnes of Loose Tea produced annually. The estate, therefore, is a relatively big player in the local industry - and has been since its founding in 1884.

Whatever your reason for choosing Assam Tea Namdang Broken Pekoe, you’ve undoubtedly decided exceptionally well. The only thing left is for you to buy it and try it.

How to Brew Assam Tea Namdang Broken Pekoe

1, Add the Tea to a Tea Infuser or Filter.

2, Place the Tea-filled accessory in a cup or mug.

3, Put the kettle on and, once boiled, pour it over the leaves.

4, Allow it to steep for 3-5 minutes.

How to Serve: milk or non dairy milk for tea, sugar, honey or lemon - the choice is yours. Alternatively, serve black.

Benefits of Assam Tea Namdang Broken Pekoe

Numerous vitamins, minerals and other antioxidants exist in Assam Tea Namdang Broken Pekoe, all of which play a crucial role in your health and wellbeing.

Chemical compounds such as theaflavins and thearubigins, for instance, slow oxidative stress by neutralising free radicals. This ultimately leads to a reduced risk of developing several chronic conditions.

And that’s just the beginning. One study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences indicates that Black Tea, regardless of the type, maintains the immune system. A collaborative research project conducted in both the USA and Sweden, meanwhile, concluded that Tea protected your teeth.

Perhaps better still, evidence of it having minor anti-cancer effects appears promising.
