The Phoobsering Tea Estate in Darjeeling
Darjeeling First Flush Phoobsering comes from the Tea estate of the same name, which was established by the Darjeeling Tea Company in the 1850s. It is one of the oldest gardens in the district’s West Valley, situated at elevations between 900 and 1,800 metres (3,000-6,000 feet) above sea level. This particular Loose Leaf Tea was cultivated and picked from a section of the estate at 1,450 metres (4,750 feet).
With the Phoobsering Tea Estate about six miles (ten kilometres) from Darjeeling town, it lies a relative distance from four other gardens. These are Badamtam to the north, Ging to the west, Barnesbeg to the east, and Rungneet to the south.
