Welcome to Rutland, a small yet beautiful landlocked county in the East Midlands of England. The area shares borders with Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.
Its greatest length north to south is only 18 miles, with its greatest breadth east to west being 17 miles. Nevertheless, despite its size, there are plenty of places to get an Afternoon Tea in Rutland. Indeed, it may be the fourth-smallest county in the UK, but it still has much to offer!
Rutland’s county town is Oakham, the only other sizable settlement being that of Uppingham. At the centre of its landmass is Rutland Water, a large artificial reservoir that serves as an important nature reserve.
Why not start your visit by having a nice, brisk walk around part of this remarkable area? Once you’ve worked up an appetite, though, be sure to stop in an Afternoon Tea Rutland establishment for an assortment of sandwiches, scrumptious scones and heavenly cake.
Just don’t forget the cuppa to wash down all these delicious treats!
