Welcome to Norfolk, a largely rural and outstandingly beautiful county in the East Anglia region of East England. To the north-west lies the North Sea, providing a stunning coastline loved and admired by residents and visitors alike.
The area also borders Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. Its county town is Norwich, with other places of interest including Great Yarmouth, King’s Lynn and Thetford. Wherever you go, no matter what you do, you’re bound to find an excellent place to have an Afternoon Tea in Norfolk.
The name Norfolk, like that of neighbouring Suffolk, has a particularly interesting history. During the 5th century CE, the Germanic people known as the Angles (after whom East Anglia and England are named) settled this area.
In time, those who lived to the north became known as the northern people while those in the south became south folkâ. This eventually developed into regional names as you’ve likely already guessed.
Visiting the Norfolk Broads is high the list of activities popular among tourists. However, there is also, of course, the option of stopping in an Afternoon Tea Norfolk establishment. Why not do both? You won’t be disappointed!
