Much of the history of Navan dates back to the Norman era when it developed around a newly constructed fort. By the Middle Ages, the town consisted of three streets.

However, most of its buildings date from the Victorian and Edwardian periods. Nowadays, there are many reasons to visit, including, of course, for a nice spot of lunch.
