South London is, as its name suggests, the southern part of the UK’s capital city. It lies south of the River Thames, consisting of 11 whole boroughs, as well as parts of Richmond.

These are Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Kingston, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Southwark, Sutton and Wandsworth. Wherever you find yourself, you’re bound to find an Afternoon Tea in South London.

The area of Southwark, in particular, was where the development of South London began. This was where the first permanent crossing, near the site of the present-day London Bridge, was built.

However, as late as the 18th century, there were no other bridges over this stretch of the River Thames. Since then, of course, South London has become a flourishing tourist destination.

Why not start your day trip here by clambering aboard the famous Cutty Sark? This 19th century clipper ship had a significant role in the history of Tea in the UK.

After finishing your tour, it’s likely you’ll want a cuppa. For this, why not visit an Afternoon Tea South London establishment? There are plenty to choose from, with each one having something unique to offer!
