You’ve arrived in Darlington (known informally as “Darlo”), a large, thriving market town located in County Durham in North East England.
This popular tourist destination finds itself on the River Skerne, a tributary of the River Tees. It has much to offer visitors from far and wide, including, of course, an Afternoon Tea in Darlington.

The town began as an Anglo-Saxon settlement hundreds of years ago. However, much of its development occurred due to the influence of local Quaker families in the Georgian and Victorian era.
These families provided much of the finance and vision in creating the Stockton and Darlington Railway – the world’s first public railway to use steam locomotives. This, in turn, led to significant expansion, with Darlington later becoming known as a centre for engineering.
Today, spending time in an Afternoon Tea Darlington establishment is a particularly popular choice of pastime. If this is to your taste, you’ve undoubtedly decided exceptionally well. So what are you waiting for? Start exploring!
