Welcome to Inverness, an ancient cathedral city in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. The name Invernes means “mouth of the River Ness,” which most know (and love) for its very literal connection to the loch of the same name and its alleged resident monster.
Considered the capital of the highlands, this historic area has much to offer visitors. Why not start your day the right way by enjoying an Afternoon Tea in Inverness? You won’t regret it!
In terms of its history, most associate Inverness with the two battles that were fought nearby. The first was the 11th century Battle of Blà r nam Fèinne against Norway, while the second was the infamous 18th century Battle of Culloden during the Jacobite Rebellion.
The town itself, however, dates back to at least the 6th century. Today, Inverness is one of Europe’s fast-growing cities, with a quarter of the Highland population living in or around it.
It’s no real surprise, then, that there are several Afternoon Tea Inverness establishments considered well worth visiting!
