Welcome to Lydd, a town situated on the Romney Marsh of Kent, England. This is, in fact, one of the largest settlements found in the area, and the most southerly town of the county.

There are a handful of Afternoon Tea Lydd venues to choose from. Each one has something special to offer. The cakes are always exquisite and the scones delightful.

Sorry, we do not currently have any places for afternoon tea in this region. If you would like to submit your business to be listed in this area please Fill out our listing form here.

Lydd began as a settlement during the Roman era. By the 13th century, it was a corporate member of the Cinque Ports, a “limb” of nearby Romney. Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, the area became a base for smuggling.

This had a part to play in the History of Tea in the UK. So it seems only right and fair, then, that there should be Afternoon Tea in Lydd!

A day out in Lydd has plenty to offer. Nearby are the Denge Sound Mirrors, three concrete “listening ears” considered a forerunner of radar during the interwar years. There is also a local golf course for those who need to get their sporting fix. Alternatively, relax with an Afternoon Tea in Lydd, a perfect pastime regardless of when you visit.
