Welcome to Paddock Wood, a small town in the Borough of Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England. Nearby is Maidstone, some 8 miles away, and Sevenoaks, around 15 miles away.

Visitors know it (and love it!) for being the centre of hop growing in the county. There is also the option, however, to keep things simple with an Afternoon Tea in Paddock Wood.

Sorry, we do not currently have any places for afternoon tea in this region. If you would like to submit your business to be listed in this area please Fill out our listing form here.

Compared to many Kentish towns, Paddock Wood is relatively young. Much of it developed during the latter half of the 19th century alongside the thriving hops industry.

The arrival of the railway, too, had a part to play. By 1900, Paddock Wood had become a local transport hub with three railway lines at the railway station. It even briefly appeared in a Charles Dickens novel!

One of the most popular destinations of the area is Hop Farm, a 400-acre recreational park. This is the home of the annual War and Peace Show. It was also where the famous Hop Farm Festival took place between 2008 and 2012.

Notable artists who played here included Bob Dylan, Prince and The Eagles. So why not visit today? An Afternoon Tea Paddock Wood venue awaits!
