You’ve arrived in Rochester, a historic city of Kent, England. It makes up part of the Medway unitary authority alongside the other main towns of Strood, Gillingham, Chatham and Rainham.

This was once a popular destination for Charles Dickens, who based many of his novels on the area. Now, it has since become a place of interest for those who enjoy an Afternoon Tea in Rochester.

The city has a rich history dating back thousands of years. Many have occupied the area, including the Celts, Romans, Jutes and/or Saxons. During the Norman conquest, it was sacked at least twice and besieged on another occasion. It’s no real surprise, then, that by the 12th century, Rochester Castle was built to protect the locals from invasion!

Today, tourists needn’t worry about military campaigns taking hold of the city. They do, however, find themselves spoilt for choice when it comes to the many Afternoon Tea Rochester venues dotted everywhere.

Whichever establishment you eventually decide upon, you’ve undoubtedly decided well. Expect a friendly face and excellent service wherever you go.
