Some evidence suggests that the Roman advance during the conquest of Britain crossed the River Medway near Snodland. Many remnants of this era can still be found in the area, including a partially excavated Roman villa.
Snodland has also had a long history with lime working. This expanded dramatically during the 19th century with the arrival of the railway.
Today, stopping by at an Afternoon Tea Snodland venue is a particularly popular pastime. Whichever establishment you eventually decide upon, you’ve undoubtedly decided well. Expect a friendly face and excellent service wherever you go.
