Archaeological evidence suggests that people have inhabited the area surrounding Caterham since at least the Iron Age, possibly even the Bronze Age. A settlement later stood here within the Anglo-Saxon feudal division of Tandridge hundred.

Development of the town was gradual but consistent over several centuries. By the 1800s, however, it had grown to such a size that it required the building of a much larger parish church.

As of the 21st century, Caterham is flourishing. Although many of its residents venture into the city for work, there are several reasons to stay exactly where you are. Having an Afternoon Tea in Caterham is one such example. Why not treat yourself to one today?
