Famously, it was nearby that the Magna Carta of 1215 was sealed. However, constitutional history isn’t the only thing on offer here. Indeed, have you considered enjoying an Afternoon Tea in Egham? If so, you’ve chosen exceptionally well!

Evidence suggests that Egham predates c.670 CE when nearby Chertsey Abbey was founded. It later appeared in the Domesday Book of 1086 – then known as “Egeham”.

Many centuries later, during the Second World War, the famous American author ‘Dr. Seuss’ was briefly stationed in Egham.

If you, like him, loathe “green eggs and ham”, then opting to visit an Afternoon Tea Egham establishment makes for the perfect alternative!
