Archaeological evidence of people living here dates back to prehistoric times! A settlement has existed in and around present-day Reigate since at least the Bronze Age.

The town was later situated within the Anglo-Saxon administrative division of Reigate hundred. By the medieval era, it had its own market and castle, and up until the 1720s, its most important trade item was oatmeal!

Significant development took place following the arrival of the London and Brighton Railway in 1841. This saw much of the area transform into the town known and loved today. Why not make the most of your time here by stopping at an Afternoon Tea Reigate establishment? You won’t regret it!
