Description

Bravissimo Espresso Roast Coffee is a Coffee of more than one origin, as well as a Coffee with more than one outstanding quality. It is an espresso roasted Coffee with a deep, rich taste, complemented by defined chocolatey and spicy notes. This Coffee likewise boasts slight earthy undertones with hints of liquorice and rose water, all elements combining to create a full-bodied and wonderful-tasting Coffee well-suited to the making of cappuccinos and lattes.

With Coffees from Brazil, Ethiopia, Uganda and India, our Bravissimo Espresso Roast Coffee is nothing short of remarkable. It is a choice made by many, including many here at The Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company, where all of our Coffees are roasted using the latest state-of-the-art Neuhaus Neotec fluidised air-bed system, which primarily uses convection heat transfer to roast the beans. Once roasted, all of our Coffees, including Bravissimo Espresso Roast Coffee, are packed fresh to order here in our Pluckley-based factory, nestled away within the captivating vistas of the Kentish countryside.

Owing to its multiple origins, Bravissimo Espresso Roast Coffee has multiple stories. The Ethiopian beans found in this blend belong to a long history - the “longest” in fact. Present-day Ethiopia is where Coffee was first discovered over 1,000 years ago. Legend has it that an Abyssinian goat herder named Kaldi witnessed his animals grazing on an unknown plant one day, their energy levels somehow boosted as they pranced excitedly around their pasture.

Intrigued, Kaldi decided to try the berries on the plant for himself, and soon felt the same sense of elation. Without knowing at the time, Kaldi had just discovered Coffee. Today, Ethiopia continues to boast an ever-growing Coffee culture, whereby many of the country’s most-sought-after Coffees originate from the Sidamo and Yirgacheffe regions.

Ethiopia is the top Arabica bean exporter in Africa, and around 12 million Ethiopians make their living from Coffee growing and manufacturing. Most of these workers grow Coffee at an elevation between 1,500 m and 2,200 m, often harvesting between November and February.

Similarly, Uganda plays a significant role in the continent’s collective Coffee Industry. However, not so long ago, Ugandan Coffee was seldom heard of. Once known for Robusta beans, Uganda has since moved towards the production of Arabica beans, which have soared in popularity in the last few years alone. The country boasts richly fertile land, with volcanic soil to the east and west, and plenty of rainfall. These elements are ideal for Coffee-growing and producing. Certain parts of the country have two harvests: April to June and October to February.

Moving east, India is perhaps best known for the production of Tea, especially Assam and Darjeeling Tea. However, like Uganda, like Ethiopia, there is much to be said about the country’s Coffee industry. While present in India since the 16th Century CE, Coffee only emerged as a trade asset during the mid-1990’s, when the Indian government ceded tight control of the Industry and returned it to the farmers, thereby boosting produce regarding both quality and sales. The change in India’s Coffee industry is, in many ways, emblematic of the nation’s own emergence as an economic powerhouse. Today, it is a force to be reckoned with, particularly in regards to Indian-grown Coffee.

Finally, and arguably most importantly, our Bravissimo Espresso Roast Coffee contains beans from Brazil, a nation renowned for its production of Coffee around the world. In fact, it is also the world’s largest producer and exporter. Brazil has an average elevation for Coffee production of 1,100 metres.

Harvesting takes place from May to September, and by the end of the season, creates, on average, 50 to 60 million bags for exportation. In 2016, Brazil produced a staggering 2,595,000 metric tons of Coffee. Incredible!

So, what does your morning cup say about you? With our Bravissimo Espresso Roast Coffee, it says you enjoy the finer things in life. It yells from the rooftops that Coffee is not, and should not be “just a drink” -  instead, it is, and always will be, an indulgence.

Origin: Brazil, Ethiopia, Uganda, India (Asian Robusta and South American / African Arabica).

  5. This coffee beans was a gift from my friend who bought it in France. Loved Favour so began searching it here in the UK. Surprisingly not many shops are selling even at specialist shops. I came across this seller by accident which I’m really glad I did. The price is very generous compare to the others. This shop has now become a must have.
