Description

It's not summer without an Iced Tea to hand! Why not try our Apple Viennese Iced Fruit Tisane to make this the best summer yet?

This delightful infusion contains apple pieces, rosehip, hibiscus, currants, almonds, clove oil, cinnamon and all-natural flavouring. Combined, these mouthwatering ingredients will have you brewing up another cup of this Iced Tea in no time at all.

Apple Viennese Iced Fruit Tisane boasts a rich and refined flavour reminiscent of apple strudel, a popular pastry from Vienna, Austria. Most enjoy days out in the garden sipping this beverage while relaxing in a sun chair. Some even add prosecco!

Iced Tea Additions

Adding alcohol? Are you sure? Yes, absolutely! One of the first known Iced Tea from America in 1939 reads: "Tea Punch - Make a pint and a half of very strong Tea in the usual manner; strain it, and pour it boiling on one pound and a quarter of loaf sugar [2½ of white sugar]. Add half a pint of rich sweet cream and then stir in gradually a bottle of claret or of champagne. You may heat it to the boiling point and serve it so, or you may send it round entirely cold, in glass cups".

When Did Iced Tea Become Popular?

While Iced Tea recipes existed in the 19th Century, it wasn't until 1904 that they took the world by storm. This popularisation is thanks to a Tea plantation owner and vendor named Richard Blechynden.

At the World's Fair held in St Louis, USA, Blechynden decided to pour ice over his Tea samples to combat the high temperatures of the day. It proved a tremendous success. Indeed, since Blechynden's endeavours, the global Tea Industry has striven to build upon the foundations he set.

Our very own Apple Viennese Iced Fruit Tisane is one such example.
