Assam Tea Langharjan Estate TGFOP1

The name 'Langharjan' originated from the British planters, the mixture of 'Langhori' for small river and 'Jan' for small stream meant that in time the Estate was known as Langharjan. Located between Tinsukia and Dibrugarh, where some of the best Assam Tea Estates can be found as well as oil and coal deposits.

Type of Tea- Orthodox Indian Black Tea.

Origin- Langharjan Tea Estate, Naharkatia, Assam, India.

Altitude- 300 Feet above sea level.

Leaf Grade- Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe- Grade 1

Harvest- 2015

Brewing Guide- Use boiling water (100 degrees) Infuse for 3-5 minutes.

How to Serve- This tea is best drank as it is.

Tasting Notes- A medium bodied flavourful tea with good biscuit-malt notes.

Colour in Cup- Deep copper liquor.

History- The Estate was planted in 1912 when 460 acres were planted but in 1913 almost half the plot failed and only 295 acres were of a high quality. Today, Langharjan is one of the highest yielding gardens is Assam, processing mainly orthodox tea.
