Buy Ceylon Dimbula Tea
Dimbula is a district in Central Province, Sri Lanka, at altitudes between 1,000 and 1,500 metres above sea level. It includes well-known sub-districts such as Dickoya and Bogawantalawa.
Overall, Dimbula has produced Ceylon Tea since the 1870s, most of which people would classify as high-grown. Planters of the time were often British, which is reflected in place names.
Located between two high plateaus, Dimbula gets its name from the valley that lies in the heart of the region. There is rich wildlife here; elephants by the thousands, deer and sambhur by the tens of thousands, and eagles soaring above its beautiful landscape.
Its Tea Estates are some of the most-loved in Sri Lanka. The complex topography and unique microclimates tend to lend themselves to a mellow taste in cup.
