Gunpowder Formosa

Gunpowder tea is known mainly to come from China but this one originates from Taiwan and is a higher quality, Tea bushes were planted 300 years ago with bushes from Fuijan Province in China but the near tropical climate and high mountains make a perfect combination for tea growing.

Type of Tea- Green Loose Tea

Origin- Taipei, Taiwan.

Grade- Gunpowder.

Altitude- 1500-2500 Feet above sea level.

Brewing Guide- Best brewed for 2-3 mins with water 75-80 degrees.

How to Serve- Best served as it is or with a slice or honey or lemon.

Tasting Notes- True to its name, this tea has mellow smokey notes and a grassy aroma.

Colour in Cup- Golden Yellow Liquor.

History- Tea was first planted in Taiwan in 1869 by John Dodd, a British entrepreneur which coincided with the influx of Chinese immigrants who brought there tea making skills with them, cuttings and seeds. Using Chinese Methods of growing and cultivating Taiwan (also referred to as Formosa in the tea industry) has become of the largest producer of teas in the world markets.

Haven’t actually tried this yet so can’t really give a review.
