Camomile in this Blend

To understand this Tea fully, one should first examine each ingredient individually, starting with the Camomile Flower. There are two common varieties of Camomile: German Camomile (Chamomilla recutita) and Roman Camomile (Chamaemelum nobile), which both belong to the Asteraceae/Compositae family. Roman Camomile is a hardy, low-growing perennial plant.

It is a garden favourite due to its apple-like scent, and blooms between May and September. It has a small, yellow solid cone surrounded by white rays, while the leaves are twice divided, thus giving it a feathery appearance. German Camomile, meanwhile, is a hardy, self-seeding annual herb. It has a hollow, bright gold cone around the blossom, which is ringed with numerous white rays. Most importantly, both types make excellent Herbal Teas.

Lavender in this Blend

The next ingredient is Lavender Tea, which is known botanically as Lavandula angustifolia and belongs to the mint family, Lamiaceae. It originates from the Mediterranean; however, it has also long grown in other temperate and subtropical climates around the world, particularly Europe, the United States and Australia.

Rose Petals in this Blend

Finally, the rose included in this Tea belongs to the Rosaceae family. It is a perennial flowering plant consisting of hundreds of different species. Sharp prickles famously protect the stem of the plant; however, one certainly does not need to worry about that when it comes to our Camomile Lavender and Rose Blend.
