Description

Darjeeling Rohini Green Tea

This Darjeeling Green Loose Leaf Tea is from the Rohini tea estate which is situated in the Kurseong valley of Darjeeling. Rohini is sometimes called Darjeelings youngest tea estate because after decades of abandonment it underwent a replanting and renewal program. Today these new tea bushes produce some fantastic teas and this fine green tea is a great example.

Type of Tea- Orthodox Indian Green Tea.

Origin- Kurseong Valley, Darjeeling, India.

Altitude- 4000 feet above sea level.

Brewing Guide- Brew with water of 80 degrees and infuse for 2-3 minutes.

How to Serve- Serve best as it is or with a slice of lemon.

Tasting Notes- Fresh and light vegetal notes and muscatel overtones.

Colour in Cup- A light emerald liquor.

History- This Estate had previously been closed for a period of 32 years from 1962-1994 when it due to the creation of a military camp during the Indochina War. Replanted in 1994 to ready to be picked in 2000, this is know as a very young estate which produces fine, fresh and vibrant tea.
