Description

Our delicious, invigorating Italian Coffee Pods are the best brews this side of Trieste. The term “Italian Style” refers to an Italian Roast, which is a method used to make Coffee at a high heat.

This results in an infusion with sweet, syrupy and nutty notes with a floral, perfumed aroma. Accompanying these flavours are undertones of peanut butter and butterscotch. A match made in heaven!

It’s also worth noting that these Italian Coffee Pods contain a sizable amount of caffeine, making them an excellent choice first thing in the morning. Furthermore, they are Nespresso® machine-compatible and aluminium-recyclable.

Whether you’re here for the taste, roasting style, hassle-free brewing or ethics, you’ve undoubtedly chosen well. Buy from us today.

Facts About Italian Roast Coffee

  • This style of making Coffee involves a dark roast.
  • Darker-roasted Coffee beans tend to lack the acidity of their counterparts, are shinier and oilier on the surface, and literally have a darker colour.
  • Making it requires the beans to be heated at 465°F – 485°F, which coincides with a phenomenon known as the “second crack.”
  • The name “Italian Roast” comes from its immense popularity in Italy. This is similar to how French Roast Coffee is popular in France.

Italian Roast vs French Roast

Although neither Italy or France commercially grow Coffee, both countries have a close association with Coffee roasting. But what’s the difference between Italian Roast and French Roast Coffee?

Both types involve a method of dark roasting. However, an Italian Roast is much darker and oilier than its neighbour. This is to the taste of many, including many here at The Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company.

Nespresso® Machine-Compatible

These Colombian Coffee Pods are compatible with Nespresso® machines. Nespresso® is a registered trademark of Société des Produits Nestlé S.A. and neither that company nor its affiliates have manufactured or endorsed our products in any way.
