Despite being separated by 2,500 miles, Coffees from Ethiopia and Mysore in India, when blended, are a match made in heaven. It has brought about the creation of our extremely popular Mocha Mysore Blend, fusing two different Coffee cultures together to make something extraordinary.
What makes our Mocha Mysore Blend all the more extraordinary is the fact that we medium-roast each Coffee separately before blending, something that seldom occurs with the vast majority of Coffee Blends within the global Coffee Industry. The result is a smooth, well-balanced and mild-tasting Coffee without bitterness.

All of our Coffees, including Mocha Mysore Blend, albeit separately, are roasted using the latest state-of-the-art Neuhaus Neotec fluidised air-bed system, which primarily uses convection heat transfer to roast the beans.
Once roasted, our Mocha Mysore Blend, as well as every other Coffee, is packed fresh to order here in our Pluckley-based factory, which is nestled away in the beautiful Kentish countryside. Our Mocha Mysore Blend has two fascinating stories which are, quite literally, blended to make one; these stories are of Mysore Coffee from India and Mocha Coffee (not to be mistaken with Chocolate Flavoured Coffee) from Ethiopia. With the latter, in particular, it is important to note that the history of Coffee began in what is present-day Ethiopia.
According to legend, an Abyssinian goat herder, who lived around 850 CE, witnessed his animals grazing on an unknown plant one day, their energy levels somehow boosted as they pranced excitedly around their pasture. Intrigued, Kaldi decided to try the berries on the plant for himself, and soon felt the same sense of elation. Without knowing it at the time, Kaldi had just discovered Coffee.
The history of Indian Mysore Coffee, on the other hand, is not quite as long, yet nevertheless interesting. While present in India since the 16th Century CE, Coffee only emerged as a trade asset during the mid-1990’s, when the Indian government ceded tight control of the Industry and returned it to the farmers, thereby boosting produce in terms of both quality and sales. The change in India’s Coffee industry is, in many ways, emblematic of the nation’s own emergence as an economic powerhouse. Today, India’s Coffee Industry is a force to be reckoned with, its greatest asset, in turn, being Coffee from the Mysore region.
