Description

Organic Darjeeling Avongrove Tea FTGFOP1 is an Indian Black Tea from West Bengal’s most famous district. Specifically, this particular infusion comes from the Avongrove Tea Estate in the Darjeeling foothills of the Himalayas.

Here, stretching between two hillsides thickly populated by beautiful, flourishing Tea bushes, lies one of the best gardens of them all.

Our Organic Darjeeling Avongrove Tea FTGFOP1 stands testament to that fact. Every sip of this extraordinary beverage transports you to the landscape from where it originates, boasting delectable muscatel notes with floral undertones. Best of all, we pack it fresh to order here at our Kent-based factory, ensuring not only quality but also consistency.

What Does “FTGFOP1” Mean?

The term “FTGFOP1” might sound baffling at first. It stands for Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe”, a Tea grade of many remarkable elements. “FOP”, in particular, denotes Tea made from the top bud and the first two leaves of each new shoot.

Each also contains young, tender leaves with a balanced amount of ‘tip’ and ‘bud’. “FTG”, meanwhile, means it has an exceptionally high content of golden tips.

About Avongrove Darjeeling Tea Estate

This Garden produces Tea using only traditional methods. Dutiful workers first hand-pick the leaves before they arrive at the factory for processing. It’s then up to veteran managers to oversee the next stages, whereby the product is continuously tasted to ensure that it’s of the highest calibre. Finally, after undergoing withering, rolling, oxidising and firing, the Tea is ready to be shipped.

The area itself hosts some five-hundred workers, with most families living on the estate in houses decorated with orange trees and flowers. Each member of the community is well looked after, especially as the entire area is free from chemicals due to organic growing.

This aspect benefits you, too, of course, seeing as our Organic Darjeeling Avongrove Tea FTGFOP1 has no man-made substances within it.
