Description

Treat a loved one this Valentine's Day (or any day, for that matter!) with our Valentines Black Tea Love Potion Caddy. This special blend of China Rose Congou Tea with decorative rose petals and buds tastes as good as it looks. It boasts a full-bodied yet floral flavour like no other, leaving a refreshing aftertaste that lingers on the palate long after one has drained their cup.

And what better gift can you give than the gift of good health? When consumed alongside a healthy and active lifestyle, this Tea can improve wellbeing in several ways. It can improve cardiovascular health by lowering "bad" LDL Cholesterol. It can aid weight loss by boosting metabolism. It can even reduce the risks of developing type-2 diabetes by balancing blood sugar levels!

What is China Rose Congou Tea?

Rose Congou is a classically scented Tea that the Chinese know as "Meigui Hongcha". Producers make it by layering rose petals over China Black Tea during its processing. This creates a sweet and flowery 'bouquet' of flavour.

Black Tea vs Green Tea

Black Tea, like Green Tea (and like any 'real' Tea!), can improve one's everyday way of life in small yet significant ways. Despite Green Tea having had the limelight for years, it doesn't mean that Black Tea doesn't deserve some recognition, too!

Black Teas such as Rose Congou Tea contain two particularly beneficial antioxidants called theaflavin and thearubigin. These antioxidants can slow down the process of natural, though harmful, oxidation in the body by combating free radicals.

Free radicals are unpaired (and unsafe!) electrons that, when left unchecked, can wreak havoc on the body. This, in turn, increases the risks of developing numerous chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease and type-2 diabetes. The antioxidants in this Tea, on the other hand, can, in fact, reduce the risks of these conditions! What more could you want from your cuppa?

Benefits of this Tea

We now know about the antioxidants, but what benefits come from them? A 2015 meta-analysis found that drinking a cup of Tea a day (no matter the type) reduced the risks of developing cancer by 2%.

Those who drank the most Tea, on the other hand, had a 21% lower cancer risk than those who drank none. It's important to note, however, that The Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company do not currently endorse the consumption of Tea for this purpose. We nevertheless support ongoing research.
