Welcome to the West Midlands, a metropolitan county located in the UK. After Greater London, the area is the second-most populous county in England despite only coming into existence in 1974.

It was formed from parts of Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire but has since created its own, unique identity. Nevertheless, much confusion persists due to the name “West Midlands” also referring to the largest West Midlands region. Yet either way, you’re bound to have a great day out so long as you opt for an Afternoon Tea in West Midlands!

Despite being relatively ‘young’ as a county, settlements of modern-day West Midlands have long been essential centres for trade and commerce for hundreds of years. Coventry, for instance, played a significant role in English wool and cloth manufacture from the Middle Ages onwards.

Birmingham and Wolverhampton, on the other hand, became known for small metal-working industries during the 16th century. Nowadays, the area in its entirety boasts several outstanding Afternoon Tea West Midlands establishments well worth visiting.
