Ethical Coffee from Nicaragua in Central America with Bird Friendly Certification from the Smithsonian Institute. This is produced by the Procafe RL cooperative which deals with about 90 small holder farmers. The farms are situated in the northern department area of Madriz next to the border with Honduras. The cooperative is situated near the town of Lombardi. Very interestingly the farms are certified by the Smithsonian Institute. The farms are organic and the levels of migratory birds are counted to gauge the levels of biodiversity and as a general measure of the state of the farms ecosystems.
