Assam Tea Daisajan Estate TGFOP

The Tea Estate of Daisajan in situated in the Indian State of Assam. It lies on the south bank of the Brahmaputra river in the district around the town of Doom Dooma in Upper Assam. The name Daisajan comes from the Assamese “Doiccha Jaan” which translated means “The river with two heads”.

Type of Tea- Black Indian Orthodox Leaf.

Origin- Daisajan Estate, Dooma Dooma, Tinsukia District, Assam, India.

Altitude- Appox. 407 feet above Sea level.

Leaf Grade- Tippy Golden Flowey Orange Pekoe.

Brewing Guide- Use boiling water (100 degrees) Infuse for 3-5 minutes

How to Serve- Traditionally served with milk but worthwhile trying without milk to get that full of flavour experience.

Tasting Notes- The malty taste is strong with smooth flowery notes and a fine aroma.

Colour in Cup- The liquor is a bright orange brown in colour.

Storage- Airtight container away from strong smells and direct sunlight.

Health Benefits- Despite the myths, tea is hydrating. The caffeine found in tea is not enough to create a strong enough diuretic that can dehydrate, however, the Food and Drug Administration still advises to drink extra water if you consume large amounts of caffeine.

History- The estate has been modernised in recent years and is getting a growing reputation for producing good quality CTC and orthodox teas. The spraying of 'Gobor Pani' (natural fertilizer) and tea waste water has improved the quality of working conditions and the produce as use the use of pesticides are no longer needed.
