Brewing instructions

This flavoured Coffee is rich, creamy and full-bodied through and through. We use the finest quality Arabica beans in the making of Chocolate Orange Flavoured Coffee. These, in turn, are medium- roasted using the latest state-of-the-art Neuhaus Neotec fluidised air-bed system, which primarily uses convection heat transfer to roast the beans. This ensures not only quality but also consistency.

'Regular' Coffee vs Flavoured Coffee

Many Coffee Connoisseurs have long steered clear of Flavoured Coffees; however, this is changing for the better. Why? Because today many Flavoured Coffees, especially those from The Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company, strive for a more natural taste in cup. This, indeed, applies to our very own Chocolate Orange Flavoured Coffee.

Unlike adding flavouring syrups to Coffee, which often produces sickly, unnatural tastes, we flavour the Coffee beans themselves long before brewing. By using Flavoured Coffee Beans, one experiences the best of the best in terms of flavour.

History of Flavoured Coffee

Contrary to popular belief, the idea of a Flavoured Coffee is far from a new phenomenon. Centuries ago, people added berries and nuts to Coffee for an enhanced taste.

While finding such additions in one's morning brew isn't so common anymore, the concept of a Flavoured Coffee stuck! Today, advances in technology mean a cleaner taste (and, of course, mean no surprise berries or nuts protruding from your favourite beverage!).

Why use Arabica Coffee Beans?

Arabica beans come from the Coffea arabica species of the Coffea plant. These beans are often more mature than Robusta beans, while also having heavier aromas and smoother tastes. Furthermore, Arabica beans contain less caffeine than Robusta beans.

The differences between these two types of bean go further still. Arabica beans contain 60% more lipids and almost twice the amount of natural sugars over Robusta beans. Appearance-wise, Arabica beans are longer with a more curved central cut.

Connoisseurs most commonly prefer Arabica beans over Robusta beans for these reasons. This, indeed, is why we use Arabica Coffee beans in the making of Chocolate Orange Flavoured Coffee. Quality, after all, comes in many forms; and this brew ticks many of the boxes!
