Brew with water at 75 to 80 degrees and brew for 2 to 3 minutes, be careful not to over infuse
Description
Gentler than the name might suggest, Mountain Dragon Green Tea boasts luscious and smooth grassy flavours, as well as simply irresistible aromas. A combination of traditional Green Tea leaves with delicious red safflower petals, this beverage is of particularly fine quality winning Provincial and National awards in China at least 26 times.
Further to this, Mountain Dragon Green Tea also offers a fascinating insight into the Imperial courts of Chinese emperors, when it was consumed as a ‘Tribute Tea’, dating back hundreds of years! So, why not treat yourself to a brew fit for Royalty, with The Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company?
According to legend, this loose leaf green tea originates from the hills of the Yunnan Province, China, during a time of great upheaval when bandits were free to roam the country with little to no restraint. The tale follows a virtuous and peace-loving tea farmer, who was descended upon by a gang of villainous scoundrels looking to steal his season’s crop.
The bandits proceeded to mercilessly beat him until he yielded his produce; leaving him with nothing but the clothes on his back. As the gang made off towards the dark thicket of a nearby forest, the farmer desperately called out for help. Yet, his pleas were unanswered as the bandits disappeared from sight; taking all the sacks of tea with them.
That very same night, however, a dragon appeared before him, and offered to help him retrieve his vital crop. Together, they soared above the forest until they found the bandits, and with one fiery blast, the dragon reduced the gang to a pile of ash. The tea sacks had been saved, and so the farmer blended his tea with safflower petals, in honour of the dragon’s mighty flame.
