About the Phuguri Tea Estate

Phuguri, situated in the Mirik Valley at elevations between 3,500 and 6,000 feet, is one of the biggest Estates of Darjeeling. Factors such as altitude, ample rainfall, and a north-east facing garden contribute significantly to the quality of this Tea. Phuguri boasts an annual Tea production of 150,000 kg. Our Darjeeling First Flush Organic Phuguri, however, is their finest.

Darjeeling First Flush Organic Phuguri Tea is, as the name suggests, an Organic Tea. Choosing this beverage is one way of supporting Darjeeling's environment and biodiversity, as well as the welfare of dutiful Tea workers. No pesticides, insecticides, bio-engineered genes or petroleum/sewage-based fertilisers are used in the making of this Tea.

Type of Tea: Black Tea.

Origin: The Phuguri Tea Estate, Darjeeling District, West Bengal, India.

Brewing Instructions: Brew using freshly boiled water. Infuse for 2 to 5 minutes.

How to Serve: We recommend serving this Tea without any accompaniments. However, some may choose to add a slice of lemon.

Tasting Notes: This beverage has traditional yet bold muscatel notes.
