Darjeeling First Flush Tea Rohini 2019

This 2019 season, we chose Darjeeling First Flush Tea Rohini 2019 for several reasons. It has a large, light green leaf with plenty of tip, producing a bright amber liquor when brewed. Upon the first sip, it boasts a distinct vegetal flavour with a slight sweetness.

It's also worth noting that it comes from Rohini, one of the youngest yet most outstanding Tea Estates of the district. Such is its prestige that we also selected another Tea from this Estate, Darjeeling Rohini White Tea. When it comes to traditional Darjeeling Black Teas, however, you'll be hard pressed to find a better brew than Darjeeling First Flush Rohini Delight 2019.

About the Rohini Tea Estate

This Tea Estate, initially opened in 1968 but then closed for 38 years, has produced quality Tea since 2000. The Tea plants situated in its gardens, spanning across 146 hectares, are of Chinese origins. They continue to mature after being planted in 1996. Over the last two decades, Rohini has showcased some of the best Darjeeling Teas of the Kurseong valley.

Why Should I Drink First Flush Darjeeling?

A "flush" tends to refer to the time of year/season that the Tea leaves are picked. First Flush Teas, as the name suggests, are the 'first' of the picking season. By May, we receive our first stocks of Darjeeling First Flush. Casual drinkers and connoisseurs alike flock to these beverages because of their light, floral and fresh notes with distinct muscatel hints.
