Tea to Help you Relax

Tea to Help you Relax

Who said relaxing couldn’t be a health benefit? In reality, taking time out from your day with your favourite brew to hand could improve your wellbeing in a multitude of ways. Whether you’re drinking Camomile Tea to improve your sleeping patterns or consuming Gentle Pumpkin Fruit Tisane simply because it tastes great and helps you to relax.

One good reason to drink Tea frequently is owing to a recent study that suggests chronic stress (i.e. not stopping to relax with a nice, hot cup of Tea) disrupts our sleep and blood sugar levels. In turn, this leads to increased hunger and comforting eating, which again, in turn, leads to even higher levels of stress and even more disrupted blood sugar levels. It is an endless circle that not only causes unhealthy levels of body fat, but also increases the risks of developing type-2 diabetes.

The answer? Drink Tea, of course! Why? Because according to the latest scientific research, Teas containing leaves from the Camellia sinensis (Tea) plant have high concentrations of L-theanine, which despite also stimulating the brain, can likewise bring calm. Aside from improving one’s overall mood, L-theanine may also contribute to reducing minor depression and anxiety, making this a very calming tea.

Best of all, Tea can provide the avid consumer with several other health benefits - even while relaxing! Providing one eats healthily and exercises frequently, any type of Tea (White, Green, Black and Oolong) can boost the metabolism, enabling the body to burn fat quicker and more efficiently; lower cholesterol

Thus improving cardiovascular health; and even enhance cognitive function, which can, very potentially, reduce the risks of developing dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. All of these benefits and more can be reaped from the comfort of one’s own home while relaxing on the sofa watching television.

But of course, other Teas such as Herbal and Fruit Teas can also afford “me time” to those wishing to escape the hectic schedules of everyday life - even just for a short while. No science is needed to determine a flavour or Tea type best-suited to such a past time as it depends very much on one’s preference! Some may choose Assam Tea, or Pluckley Tea, or Garden of England Afternoon Tea while they put their feet up.

Others may prefer Blueberry Fizz Fruit Tisane, or Summer Blossom Herbal Tea, or our exclusive Lullaby Tea after a long, hard day at work. Ultimately, no choice is wrong!

So, if you're looking for a calming tea then you've found the right place!
