5 Teas for Halloween you Must Try
It’s that time of year for thrills and scares with Halloween just around the corner. Indeed, things are already starting to go ‘bump-in-the-night’ here at The Kent and Sussex Tea and Coffee Company where we have the perfect teas for Halloween.
For those who don’t know, we’re based in Pluckley, Kent - considered ‘the most haunted village in England’. The good news is that there are no tricks here, only treats!
When it comes to Teas for Halloween, we recommend five outstanding beverages. Each one has something unique. Each one tastes great. Whatever you choose, you’ve decided well with us.
We pack all of our Loose Tea, Tisanes and Coffees fresh to order, ensuring not only quality but also consistency. Read on to find out which brew is for you.
Rooibos Blood Orange Tea
Rooibos has become an increasingly popular infusion in recent years, particularly during the autumn months. The herb grows exclusively in the Cederberg region of South Africa, located in the Western Cape Province.
When it comes to Rooibos Tea benefits, you can expect allergy relief, reduced blood pressure and even weight loss promotion. All sounds pretty great, right? There’s more.
Rooibos Blood Orange, as its name suggests, is a type of Flavoured Tea (well, Herbal Tea). In particular, it offers spooky yet indulgent citrusy notes brought about from adding blood orange. We would be amiss, after all, if our Teas for Halloween didn’t include something somewhat (or at least seemingly) sinister!
Combining these deliciously fruity flavours with Rooibos’ herbaceous overtones makes for a match made in heaven. When brewed to perfection, which tends to be between 8 and 10 minutes, Rooibos Blood Orange Tea meets all needs.
It’s scrumptious. It’s warming. It’s an excellent choice for Halloween. What more could you want from your cuppa?
Gentle Pumpkin Fruit Tisane
Nothing says Halloween more than carved pumpkins sitting unsettlingly on doorsteps with flames flickering in the darkness of night. Scary, huh? Honour this tradition with an alluring cup of Gentle Pumpkin Fruit Tisane, a beverage like no other.
So, what do you need to know? First off, Gentle Pumpkin Fruit Tisane is, well, a Fruit Tisane. This refers to a type of Tea that is, in essence, void of Tea.
Instead of using leaves from the Camellia sinensis (Tea) plant, it consists only of fruit with the occasional herb. The lack of actual Tea leaves also means that it’s entirely caffeine-free. That, for some, is great news.
Whether or not you’re actively looking to cut out caffeine, Gentle Pumpkin Fruit Tisane never ceases to impress.
As well as its trademark ingredient, it contains apple pieces, orange peel, apple cubes, vanilla, safflowers and all-natural vanilla flavouring. Each sip gives the impression that it’s melting in the mouth while constantly enticing the palate for more.
Blood Orange Black Tea
Do you like the taste of blood orange but prefer it alongside ‘real’ Tea? If so, look no further than here. Our Blood Orange Black Tea is exactly as it sounds: an infusion noted for its bittersweet taste and malty goodness.
Moreover, unlike the previous two beverages, this one comes with caffeine. This, in turn, enables you to feel energised while, perhaps more importantly, treating your taste buds.
Autumn, particularly around Halloween, can leave many of us missing the recently departed warmer months. Gone are the days of basking in summer’s glory.
No more ice lollies (although you can still have Iced Tea if you’d like!) or tanning on the beach. The nights are getting shorter, too, which always feels a little disheartening. But all is not lost - not with Blood Orange Black Tea to hand!
Now, after all, is the time for adding extra flavour to your life - in almost every sense of the phrase. Some opt for Chai Tea and Lattes to take some of the chill out of the air. Others, perhaps yourself included, decide to drink this particular brew. Either way, you’ve chosen well, although with Blood Orange Black Tea, you can expect more fruitiness than spiciness!
Turkish Apple Tea
If carving pumpkins is the most quintessentially ‘Halloweeny’ activity around, then going apple-bobbing makes for a close second. Not everyone, however, wants to dunk their entire head into a barrel filled with freezing-cold water for mere fruit. If this isn’t to your taste, either, why not instead opt for a cup of Turkish Apple Tea? which should of course be a Tea for Halloween. You certainly won’t regret it!
What’s more, this beverage is a far healthier option when compared to all the sweets and treats circulated at this time of year. In other words - sure, that bar of chocolate may taste great at the time.
However, its sugar content could very well play on your conscience for some hours after. With Turkish Apple Tea, however, you can give in to your dessert cravings without the extra guilt. Win-win.
Ultimately, after a long night out in the cold ‘trick-or-treating’, Turkish Apple Tea makes for the perfect end to festivities. Not only does it satisfy the sweet tooth, but also warms the body and nourishes the soul. Who needs candy when you have this delectable infusion?
Blood Orange Fruit Tisane
Seriously, we really can’t get enough of blood orange, a perfect Tea for Halloween. But what, exactly, makes this one different from the others? Well, for starters, it contains no Rooibos, so it arguably isn’t a Herbal Tea.
It’s also void of Black, Green, White and Oolong Tea, meaning it isn’t a “Tea” in the conventional sense. Yet it’s worth noting that there’s much more on offer here.
Blood Orange Fruit Tisane is the product of combining apple pieces, hibiscus, rosehip, orange pieces (of course) and all-natural flavouring. Apart from tasting fantastic, it also, contrary to popular belief, comes with health benefits.
This is due in part to the inclusion of hibiscus, which famously lowers blood pressure while improving overall cardiovascular health.
Those who’re less worried about its medicinal qualities and care more about its flavour, worry not. Expect a sweet sensation offset by distinctly tart undertones with every sip. Halloween or not, Blood Orange Fruit Tisane needs to be in your cupboard!
So there you have it: five Teas for Halloween! The first, Rooibos Blood Orange, boasts a herbaceous edge over the rest. Gentle Pumpkin Fruit Tisane, on the other hand, is perhaps the one with the closest association to the season.
Next, there is Blood Orange Black Tea, which has the bonus of caffeine. Moving on, we have Turkish Apple Tea, a much-loved product regardless of the time of year. And finally, Blood Orange Fruit Tisane has a secret, health-promoting ingredient: Hibiscus Tea benefits.
All that is left, then, is to choose! Or why not try them all?
