What is Ying Ming Yunnan Tea?

This Loose Leaf Black Tea originates from the iconic Yunnan mountains. Harvesting takes place between March and April when the climatic conditions lend themselves to the Tea’s unique characteristics.

Graded as a Flowery Orange Pekoe (FOP), Ying Ming Yunnan Tea consists of hand-crafted leaves with plenty of tips. Upon brewing, expect a bold sweetness like no other and an indulgent aftertaste.

It is only a relatively recent occurrence that Yunnan Province has specialised in Black Tea. Before the 1930s, the region was renowned for its Green Tea production. However, the Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) resulted in southeastern Tea-growing areas becoming war zones.

Yunnan, located to the west and away from the fighting, became a viable alternative. The industry hasn’t looked back since!
